Your data, stays yours.
Last updated: June 14, 2026
22 Hours is built with the principle that your data belongs to you. This policy explains what the app collects, how it's used, and your rights.
What we collect
22 Hours stores the following information you enter into the app:
- Treatment details: number of aligners, days per aligner, current aligner, daily wear goal, reminder preferences, and treatment dates
- Wear sessions: timestamps for when you put in and take out your aligners
Your rights
Because all data is on your device, you have full control:
- View: All your data is visible inside the app at any time.
- Edit: You can edit or delete any wear session from the History view.
- Delete: The "Clear all data" option in Settings removes everything immediately. Deleting the app from your device also deletes all data permanently.
Children
22 Hours is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy is ever updated, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be communicated within the app.
On iOS.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. When you're signed into iCloud, SwiftData mirrors that store into your own private iCloud database via CloudKit, so it's available on your other devices (e.g. iPhone and iPad).
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the app schedules local reminders on your device: when your aligners have been out too long, and around aligner switch days. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely by iOS, they do not reach our servers (we don't have any).
Third parties
22 Hours does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. The only services involved are those provided by Apple as part of iOS.
Data sharing
Your data is never shared with Gazewing or any third party. The only copy that leaves your device is the encrypted CloudKit mirror in your own iCloud account, which we cannot read. We can't share what we don't have.
On Android.
Where your data lives
On Android, the data you enter (listed under "What we collect" above) is stored in a database on your device. Progress photos you choose to take are saved to your device's photo storage; the camera is used only when you capture a photo.
Optional Google features
The following features are optional and off by default. They require you to sign in with Google, and they send data only to your own Google account, never to Gazewing:
- Sign in with Google: used only to enable the features below and to show which account is connected. We use the account's email address for this and nothing else.
- Cloud Backup (Google Drive): saves a backup of your treatment and wear data to a private, app-specific folder in your own Google Drive. This folder is hidden from other apps and is not visible to us. The backup does not include your progress photos.
- Calendar reminders: creates aligner-change reminders on your device's calendar and/or in a dedicated "22 Hours" calendar in your Google account. The app only manages calendar entries it creates; it does not read or change your other events.
You can turn these features off at any time in the app's settings, and remove a Cloud Backup by disconnecting your account in the app or deleting the backup from your Google Drive.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device; they never reach our servers (we don't have any).
